On to Rotorua..
Huka Falls at Lake Taupo.
The kiwi bird, with its long beak and dwindled wings that no longer give flight due to years of living without predators, therefore not needing to take flight. Now endangered and protected.
Look at the size of the egg the poor bird has to produce--talk about stretch marks!
White swan
Black swans.
Note the striking colors of their beaks.
Government gardens, scenic views...
Visit of Maori village where geothermal activities produce constant steams and boiling pools, filling the air with sulfur smells.
You can actually see boiling water bubbling in the pool.
Village Anglican church.
Visit of Maori display village. Note the warriors on roof of hut.
Note the white eyeballs and the stuck out tongue of the dancer.
Thick forest has feel of dense bamboo grove.
